About ExcelMates
ExcelMates is an educational resource for people who want to improve their knowledge of Microsoft Excel, with special attention to applications in the workplace.
About Me:
My name is Ben Korin. I have been an avid Excel user for years, starting when I first used the program in college. As I began my professional career, I realized how powerful Excel can be as a tool in so many different fields.
- I started working in Financial Services – using Excel’s financial functions and making basic models
- Human Resources at the World Bank showed me the value of Excel in sorting, pivoting, charting and presenting
- As a financial controller and analyst at Lockheed Martin, I have developed complex financial models for forecasting, summarizing data, and a wide variety of uses around the corporation. ExcelMates was inspired by my experience teaching classes in the company to everybody from interns to seasoned professionals
I graduated from George Washington University in 2006 with a BBA in Finance and International Business. I also earned an MBA (Entrepreneurship) from Imperial College, London in 2010. In 2009, I was also recognized as a graduate of Lockheed Martin’s Finance Leadership Development Program, a prestigious management training program that included coursework, rotational assignments and coaching.
